NJ Rebate Program

Homeowners with leaking or non-leaking underground home heating oil tanks are eligible for the state (New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection) grant for closure; upgrade and/or remediation of the tank. Most NJ homeowners qualify for the rebate, but 60% fill out the paperwork wrong. Let CEC help you, so you get your money back.

Bottom line, the rebate is up to $3,000.00 for tanks removed after August 2, 2006.
Qualified recipients must meet the following criteria:

IMPORTANT NOTICE - NJDEP PETROLEUM UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMEDIATION, UPGRADE & CLOSURE FUND (UST FUND)

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT EFFECTIVE MAY 3, 2011, new applications for leaking Unregulated USTs (which includes all residential Heating Oil USTs) will continue to be accepted and acknowledged, but shall not be reviewed or processed at this time. They will be date stamped at the time of receipt and processed when funding becomes available. Currently, there is a 4 – 5 year wait on all new applications being received by the Department of Environmental Protection. In addition, effective May 3, 2011, the UST Fund will no longer accept or process Non-leaking UST Fund applications due to insufficient funds.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Be advised that as of October 3, 2006, due to the enactment of P.L. 2006, c.58, all contractors performing work on non-regulated underground storage tanks, including homeowner heating oil tanks, where work is being funded by the Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Remediation, Upgrade & Closure Fund, must be certified in accordance with N.J.A.C. 7:14B-13.
